Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 with new Slide View feature

The new smartphone – Xperia X2 has been announced by Sony Ericsson which features powerful messaging and multimedia capabilities in conjunction with Windows Mobile to boost users’ multimedia experience. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 comes with a fantastic 3.2-inch WVGA OLED touchscren with a new 3D panel, a lovely slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and 14 pre-installed home screen panels with another 16 available for download.

It comes with built-in stereo speakers, a whopping 8.1 megapixel camera to snap high quality photographs and an FM radio. Film clips are of VGA quality, and videos can be recorded at 30 frames per second. The new Nokia X6 and X3 Music Phones

Nokia have announced that their new powerful entertainment device for music lovers and social butterflies, the Nokia X6 is now available. It sports a reasonably big 3.2-inch 16:9 touchscreen display, with a massive 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens and dual LED flash, 32GB of internal memory, A-GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is also capable of playing up to 4hrs of video and a whopping 35 hours of music playback.

Nokia says “With direct access to Ovi Store, the Nokia X6 is a hive of activity that brings 20 friends and virtual communities, like Facebook, to your homescreen.”

Archos Android tablets get priced unofficially

A brand new model of the Archos 5 Internet media tablet emerged on B&H on the first of September, after making a preliminary appearance at the FCC in August.

The listings of the products showed brief pricing for four models of the updated Archos 5, as well as a page for the Archos DVR Station. Leaning on the listings to be accurate, consumers can anticipate seeing 16GB ($293), 32GB ($369), 160GB ($319), and 500GB ($419) versions of the updated Archos 5 hopefully not too far away in the future, on September 15.

The peculiar pricing inconsistency between the $369 32GB Flash memory model and the hard drive based $319 160GB model might likely reflect the relative mass of the hard-drive models compared to the thinner and less fragile Flash versions.

Still there are many unknown secrets that are still waiting to be found such as if or when we will see the white Archos A5S glimpsed from the FCC filing. What would be even more interesting would be to see how these new tablets will power Google’s Android Operating System. As you can see in the photo above there is a GPS icon, so there is still speculation whether they will come with an integrated GPS receiver, or maybe rely on a separate GPS cradle. One thing’s for sure though, when they arrive, you can bet they will be some nice little devices!

HTC Touch Pro2 to hit Sprint Stores on September 8

The highly expected HTC Touch Pro2 has finally been announced by Sprint through its official website and telesales to hit Sprint Stores on September 8, 2009. This powerful, yet attractive Smartphone merges the productivity of Windows Mobile 6.1, vibrant TouchFLO 3D UI and a vast array of business features. The HTC Touch Pro2 also boasts a massive 3.6-inch WVGA multi-angle tilting touchscreen display, dual microphones and also a mute button which will provide users a professional speakerphone experience. It will also take advantage of Sprint’s 3G network (EVDO Rev. A) and include Wi-Fi and world phone capability.

Jason Mackenzie, the vice president for HTC America said “Unlike devices that focus solely on specifications, HTC Touch Pro2 was designed with the philosophy that people should be at the center of the communications experience.” He went on to say “So, instead of having to search through multiple applications to find a specific message, HTC Touch Pro2 intuitively organizes all communications, whether voice, text or e-mail, under a single contact card.”

Also supporting Sprint TV with live and on-demand programming, Sprint’s exclusive sports applications NFL Mobile Live and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile, the HTC Touch Pro2 is planned to hit Sprint stores on September 8, with a price tag of around $350, after the $100 mail-in rebate and a 24 month service contract.

Asus dual-screen replaces the keyboard for a touchscreen

Asus showed this baby off at the CeBit 2009 show in Germany. It is another design of a dual-screen laptop concept, but instead has the keyboard removed and has a touchscreen instead. It will act like a virtual keyboard just like the iPhone. A device having two touchscreens is absolute gold in the company’s eyes; since it will give it extended functionality like you’d have with a tablet but without having to bulk up the laptop to have room for the second screen.

The company calls it “a revolutionary dual-panel concept notebook,” and also says the design was enthused by "ideas contributed from users from around the world." By using the Website called WePc.com, users can submit and discuss ideas for innovative laptops. The design of this new innovative laptop is from the advice from the users on the website. But Asus warns that "the concept is still a work-in-progress which requires continued feedback.”

Here is how Asus describes this system:

“The dual panel offers a flexible working space in which users can adapt to suit their prevailing usage scenarios, for example adjusting the size of the virtual touchpad and keyboard.

Through hand gestures, handwriting recognition, and multitouch, users are presented with a control surface that is both flexible and intuitive. Users can use the dual-panel concept in a myriad of usage scenarios, for example as a conventional notebook with multitouch screens, a virtual keyboard and touchpad; a multimedia hub, in which both dual panels could combine to form a larger display for widescreen entertainment; or an E-book mode in which users can hold the dual panel concept notebook just like they would a conventional book while flipping pages through intuitive gestures or by touch.

These concepts aim to bring convenience to the user through technological innovations and user-centric design. “

New Nintendo DSi colors: Pink and Metallic Blue!

The Nintendo DSi beforehand had some of the most boring colors you can think of. Pretty much black and white, 2 of the most boring colors you can come up with. Luckily Nintendo have introduced 2 new colors for the Nintendo DSi range including pink and metallic blue. Just by looking at them, they basically shout out ‘play me’!

The only bad news is that they won’t hit shelves until September 24, sorry for all those impatient folks out there. For those of you who haven’t grabbed your own Nintendo DSi already, can either wait a few days, or simply run out to the local store and buy another ‘boring’ Nintendo DSi.
